Vietnam is facing acute challenges to its health care industry including the rise of non-communicable diseases, a rapidly aging population and an outdated health care infrastructure.

National procurement policies that favor locally manufactured drugs and seek to and substitute domestic production for imported medicines may reduce inward investment and ultimately limit the introduction of new treatments.

Reducing supply restrictions and bureaucratic delays will help bring the latest drugs and medical treatments to Vietnam, as well as attract investment that can help improve health outcomes.
